Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa

Very sunny and very quiet despite being in the center of Marseille. Our flat is a duplex, which makes it look bigger than it is actually. It is on the last and 6th storey of a 1980's building.
It has 2 terraces and a balcony, one terrace facing north - ideal for postmeridian uses ; the other one facing south - perfect for breakfast (and having windows on both sides, we never suffer from excessive heat).
Downstairs, in the court, children can bike - without escaping, it's locked.

2 bedrooms : 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs (a double-bed / 1 single bed plus a put-up double-bed and a put-up single bed). A 3rd bedroom remains off-exchange, ideally.

There is a parking place downstairs, accessible with the lift. And it is close to both subway lines and to a tramway line (5-8 minutes walk), plus buses that can bring directly to the sea (n°54). The train station is 2 subway stops away.

Lo que te va a encantar del barrio

Our flat is 5 minutes walk from a young and lively neighboorhood with numerous small restaurants, bars, and local creators boutiques (quartier Notre-dame du Mont ou Castellane). A good bakery and some groceries stand downstairs.
There is an organic market on wednesday mornings 5 minutes from home (by feet), and a big market takes place almost everyday (La plaine or Castellane) not far away.
More exotic neighboorhood Noailles is 10 minutes away by foot (asian, indian and african products - Marseille being an antique port, it's a city still rich with this kind of goods).

By tram, you can go to MuCEM and its beautiful architecture (it'sthe new museum that was built since Marseille had been a cultural capital in 2013). You can go also by bus to Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde and admire the city and the coast from it's highest point. There are regular boat-buses to islands that are about half an hour from the Vieux-Port of Marseille.

Closest beach is accessible via a direct bus line 3 minutes from home. Otherwise, railway station is not far either, which can be a very nice way of visiting l'Estaque and walk along the côte-bleue's calanques, finding little spots to swim or eat fried calamars or pizzas under a pergola.

In summer, Marseille is very pleasant since it's not the mot turistic city in the area, and it makes it pleasant wandering around, eating nice ice-creams, while kids play in the park, in notre-dame-du-mont or the panier. Local and passionate guides can provide historical visits easily.

Apart from the interest of the city itself, staying in Marseille is also being close both to Cassis, Aix-en-provence, and other numerous interesting places of Provence (Arles, Nîmes, Camargues, Avignon, Luberon...). Various museums deserve a visit, and the country side is beautiful.
